January in Utah
Hello everyone. January is almost over and I tell you, I'll be happy. Utah has been in the frigid temps for several weeks now plus the inversion is hanging over the valley, locking in all the nasty air it can.Here is a lovely pic of the air we're breathing. See all that yellow in the air? That's what the inversion is holding in. (Inversion - A temperature inversion is a thin layer of the atmosphere where the normal decrease in temperature with height switches to the temperature increasing with height. An inversion acts like a lid, keeping normal convective overturning of the atmosphere from penetrating through the inversion. This can cause several weather-related effects. One is the trapping of pollutants below the inversion, allowing them to build up.)

Donna- I had no idea about inversiona! Sad to have the bad air- and the picture is very ptetty (ironic).
