Chinese New Year can occur anytime between Jan 21 and Feb 21. This year, the New Year began on Jan 23. It ushered in the Year of the Water Dragon.
One of my favorite inspirations is my imprint and book cover came to me. Thank you, Water Dragon!
Of course, there are some unfavorable sides to this year for me. Tigers look very relaxed and friendly on the outside, but will pounce at the first sign of trouble. Although it will be a year of increase in friendships, some leading to authority positions, there will be those who want to get me in trouble or tangle with me. I am warned to watch my temper when these situations arise. Hard to do for Tigers who relish the hunt, the challenge, and the attack.
The best part, though, is the creativity. Many of you have seen my crafts, and I'm still at it. So many inspirations of the stories and poems I'm writing are coming so quickly and so often, my loving husband is thinking of buying me a voice recorder as he has seen me grab paper (or take off running for a sheet) and writing furiously.
Ground Hog Day
Ground Hog Day was Feb 2. Sadly, Punxsutawni Phil saw his shadow, so there will be 6 more weeks of winter. Utah hasn't had much snow but lots of rain. I was hoping sunshine would peek through soon.
Super Bowl XLVI Like several others, I started watching the Super Bowl for all its great commercials. Soon I was drawn into the game. It is fast becoming one of the more popular events. I will be serving chili with tater tots, tortilla chips with dips, deviled eggs (a specialty of mine), and a meat and cheese tray with my favorite beer - amber lager. This one has been boasting some great entertainment and commercials. This one to be seen has become my favorite and I've posted it everywhere. Ingenious!
I can't wait to show you all my book cover and my imprint. That will come in a future post. To all my sweet friends, thank you all for making my days the best. Each and every one of you mean something special to me.

I enjoyed this post so much. I am the year of the Tiger too- so I see that there will be some exciting things in store for me this year. I appreciate the part about watching my temper- it can get out of hand when I feel strongly about something!
Ground Hog day sure was a fun movie!
I enjoy the commercials during the Superbowl- but I can usually do without the game. Sometimes I also like the half-time show.
Can't wait to see the new book cover and imprint! Thanks for everything and wishing you much success!
I have seen that Bill Murray movie at least five times. It's great! The doggie commercial is adorable but of course not being a Star Wars fan, I wasn't following the notes very well.
Glad to hear you'll be having a wonderful year. I know I will too! Happy New Year!
Jess, I love that you're a tiger. It's the best sign, I think. I watch more of the commercials than the game, for sure. Thank you for your comment.
The Desert Rocks, it is one of my favorite movies. I'm glad you like it too. How could you ever have a bad year with your upbeat attitude? Thank you for your comment.
It is interesting that you were born in the year of the tiger, and I like tigers. Dragons are nice, too. And I do hope this will be a great year for you and for me. I am the rooster. A decent sign I suppose. It is truly fascinating. Anyway, Donna I look forward to seeing your book cover, and I am so happy that you have been having so much inspiration! I wish you success in all you do! Take care!
I love the doggie commercial, thanks for sharing. Tigers are beautiful! Happy Chinese New Year.
I was soooo disappointed not to have been born in the year of the dragon as they are by far my favourite creatures. I'm a pig!! (mortification) - although I have also heard it called a boar which is a little bit more tolerable.
My son is a tiger like you Donna - I was thrilled when I realised he fell within that year. I think tigers are such strong, beautiful, mysterious animals. He heard me watching your video clip and came straight out to see what I was doing. He recognised your blog from last time and if anything you have gone up even further in his estimation!!
Lena, thank you for your comment. I find all astrology very interesting. I am so excited about my book cover and can't wait to share it with you.
Barbara, thank you for commenting. I love that dog commercial. It must have taken some time for the trainer to teach them this.
Sharon, your son is a tiger? Tigers are strong and mysterious, and quite inquisitive. The boar is a quite revered sign and you are the first one I've met. It's an honor. Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting.
I guess I should have said he was born in the year of the tiger - reading what I put now it sounds quite funny!
lol, it's ok, Sharon. I understood. I often tell people I'm a tiger.
I'm excited for you, Donna. I can't wait to see your cover.
Thank you, Shelly. You know me. It must be perfect first. Thank you for your comment.
My father is also a tiger :)
Hubby and I are both Earth goats/sheep - and then I am a Capricorn (earth and goat again!) so I guess I am just grounded in all the zodiacs ;)
Joleene, thank you for your comment. My husband is a bull and an ox, so he's very grounded too. Grounded is a good thing. You're sensible and very careful how you spend your money. Goats prod along slowly with their eyes on their goals, never slipping or falling, until they eventually reach it. And stubborn too, one of my fav qualities.
