Happy New Year

It's that time of year again when we clean the slate and start over.

I like to set some New Years Resolutions. And this year will be no different.

I resolve to support all my friends and family and stay in touch more often.

I resolve to meet some more new friends. Friends are like family to me.

I resolve to pursue Believe in Yourself, PAWS and continue to build a community of fellow artisans.

I resolve to e-publish my novel 'Always' and my book of poetry 'Stepping Stones' dedicating them to God and friends and family, then finish other books waiting for me.

I resolve to spend more time taking care of myself and eating healthier.

I resolve to make 2012 The Year of Poetry and do my best to introduce poetry back into all our lives.

I resolve to continue to defend my right to be who I am and say what I feel I must say, for staying true to myself makes me who I am.

I resolve to continue my quest for patience, a never-ending journey.

And especially, I resolve to fly above the clouds higher reaching for that star, and be who I was meant to be, not a mere shadow of myself.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. MAY THIS YEAR SHOWER DOWN UPON US ALL LOVE, PEACE, UNDERSTANDING. MAY WE LEARN TOLERANCE AND LOVE FOR ALL AND MAY OUR WORLD BE A WORLD OF PEACE AND LOVE FOR ALL LIVING THINGS. MAY OUR GREAT GOD ABOVE GIVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF US WHAT WE NEED, REGARDLESS OF WHAT WE WANT.

So let's start the New Year by bringing to mind one of the most tender poems ever written Thank you, Robert Burns, great poet and one of my favorites for these fitting words:
Auld Lang Syne

by Robert Burns
(1759-1796)

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu'd the gowans fine;
But we've wandered mony a weary fit
Sin' auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidled i' the burn,
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught

For auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

It's Hogmanay, folks, so let's hear it as it should be sung:

Those are good resolutions! I am in limbo on mine right now. originally it was going to be to work less and spend more time with other people and working on things I enjoy (not that book covers aren;t fun, but you know what I mean ;) ) But now I have an invite to New Zealand for the premier of the Hobbit (not necessarily to get in to see the movie, but standing outside would be awesome!!) and so I'm torn. The only way to afford to go would be to work a lot more (I'd have to take my hubby and brother with me!) so the resolution would be more money oriented instead. So I am putting off making a final decision until the end of the month for my resolutions, LOL!

Wow, Joleene, the premier of the hobbit? I say you hold a raffle for one night with the person's fav vampire. Seriously, I see your dilemma. Can't wait to find out what happens.
