Day 2 Two Turtle Doves

I've always loved the words 'Two Turtle Doves,' so today I discuss loved ones. And there are so many. I love my family, even when we disagree, even when I know I'm right and the others look at me in a strange way.

I also love my online friends who make my day so much happier. I cannot imagine a world without friendship. Friends understand us better than family ever could.

I love my writer/poet friends. They truly get me. I love reading their works.

But the person I love most is my husband Barry, who accepts me as is. Barry and I have been together 30 years now, and I'm beginning to understand what older couples mean when they tell you to 'stick it out. The best is yet to come.' Marriage is a sacred bond, however you make that commitment, and LHR - Love, Honor, and Respect are the glues that bind the union. I am grateful to have a partner in life. We aren't much alike. We are as different as night and day. But that's the fun part of our marriage.

What does 'Two Turtle Doves' mean to you?

LHR, my dear friends PAWS for Success in all things.

Congratulations on your 30 years together! That is awesome. I think I would interpret two turtle doves the same as you. Cooing together in the wild world we call life?

I agree with The Desert Rocks and with you. Too many people lack the patience to stick together through the rough times. My husband and I have been together, all told, 36 years now, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

YAY for 30 years. My husband and I have been together for 9 and married for 5 - and already I can feel how it gets better and better. I also love the whole idea of turtle doves - thanks for sharing (AND for joining this challenge with me!).

I think turtle doves is most often associated with lovers (married couples, too), but I think it could even represent two friends who are best friends and maybe share the same view on things. It is something special and shows caring, sacrifice, loyalty and love.

by the way, Donna, this is a great idea of doing the '12 days.' Take care!

Congrats on 30 years! My husband and I are on 12 years now and yes, it does get better. We got married at 19, so there was a lot of growing up and some not so fun years there, but we are both glad now that we stuck it out.

Joleene, I think we continue to grow thru marriage and family as long as we are here. Thank you for your comment. I truly appreciate it.
