I have mentioned Best Friends so often. It is an animal sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. What a beautiful place. So many animals are waiting there for good homes. Some have always been homeless, some had homes but now don't, and some have been abused. This is my charity of choice. I love the concept of this place.
Recently, I became a volunteer New Writer for their online local Salt Lake City newspaper. My first article appeared last week. It was a difficult story to write. You see, I love and honor all things alive or passed on. So when it came to writing this story, well, it was difficult. This poor puppy had been placed down in a canyon recess and left to die. Thank heavens for a canyoneer who came along and saved this animal.
